December 18, 2011 – DAY 18 | Purpose

December 18, 2011 – DAY 18 | Purpose: I have a very simple question that might take some time to figure out:  What do you believe is your true purpose in life? What is it that you believe you were made to be? To figure this out, you may want to explore your interests and skills. I personally believe that we all have purpose in life – tapping into it is not always easy for everyone. Purpose is without a doubt born out of our passion and our strengths and natural abilities. Without passion, our purpose has no momentum. But without purpose, our passion is merely a pipe-dream. In order to understand our purpose we need to be willing to let go of the things that hold us back… ways of thinking or even habits. Hurts, habits and hang-ups are both passion and purpose killers. Purpose also requires strength in self-esteem. Believe in yourself.

  1. Being an individual who seems to be experiencing a remarkable transition in my 20 year career, having been unemployed more in the last two years than employed, I can tell you first-hand that I am presently self-assessing what my true purpose in life is. Once I complete sorting through my thoughts & feelings, research & explorations, job interviews & rejection…after rejection…after rejection (it is quite competitive out there…a lot of good, qualified people going after the same patch of grass), I will hopefully find my true place in my personal and professional life. The words of your post were timely and affirmed the journey I seem to be on.
